Information About Developing A Strong Bond With Your Little One
It is very important for a mother to develop a strong bonding with the child taking into account that this bond or attachment starts when the baby is still in the womb. Two types of attachment are: the secure and insecure.
When a baby feels the secure attachment to the mother, it is the healthiest thing to happen because it leads to higher self esteem as well as level of trust. The opposite is true of the insecure attachments because they usually lead to social difficulties. Childcare experts keep repeating the importance of developing a secure bond with a child for the sake of the baby plus the mother.
You may be asking how this is so. It starts with the time the baby is still in its mother's womb; and that is the reason why expectant mothers ought to take care of themselves by getting enough sleep and support. The child in the womb actually gets affected when the mother is troubled and unhappy. The end result is that when the baby is born, the child forms an insecure attachment to the mother.
Again when the baby is born, the mother should get enough rest to enable her feel relaxed and happy when nursing the baby which enhances the kid's attachment to her.
Mother should have ample time to bond with the baby because during feeding, or rest time the mother gets enough chance for bonding with her baby.
Remember this bonding is increased when the mother knows how to respond to the child's needs in an effective and timely manner. Baby should be fed regularly, not be allowed to go hungry for too long, wet and agitated. If ignored it could lead to negative results for the baby who would grow to become insecure in life.
Mothers should also use the playtime to develop the relationship with the child. Parents should check the baby's facial expressions and behavior to make a permanent, loving bond.
Since all parents love their children, they should do their best to meet their short and long term needs which will help them to become secure and have a healthy attachment to them. All of the things mentioned above will definitely play a major role in helping you get there.
