Fundamental Dog Training Via A Number Of Trouble-free Actions

I wonder why your dog will sit upon command and my dog does not. What's the secret to training my dog to stay by my left side while walking? Don't you find his coming when told to come; quite familiar? If this occurs, invest more time in training your pooch. You will have the biggest impact on your dog if you start training at a young age and this is why it's important to begin this process as early as possible.

The most basic of dog training is to get your dog to sit and come. Those commands are essential for his pedagogical development. Teaching him these commands will lay out a firm foundation for other tricks. These commands are used for various different reasons, if you are in competition, if your dog jumps making him sit will immediately get him off and "come" is the all important one. If you take your dog for a walk, you let him of the leash and you expect him to come back to you, not run around the park with you chasing after him shouting at him to "get here right this instance". That would be embarrassing!

To teach your dog how to come requires only the most basic of techniques but a lot of repetition. The simplest way to get him to come is have a toy in one hand and a treat in the other, when you are in the house simply walk away from him, hold out the toy and excitingly call him to you, when he comes over give him a treat, always use the command for come that you are going to use in the future. While having several daily sessions is commendable, it's also important that you provide plenty of breaks, as well as much anticipated treats, to keep your dog from become bored and discouraged.

Learning a sit command still falls under the fundamentals of dog training even though it may be a bit more difficult for your dog to learn. Once the "come" command has been mastered, you are ready to move on to the "sit" command. Call your dog to you. Place your hand on his back and while gently pushing his backside into the sitting position, command him to "sit." Once the dogs bottom is in the sitting position, reward him with a treat and a lot of praise. If you want him to sit a little longer, just take your time bending over to give him his treat.

Simple dog training can be easy and very useful. It should also be fun for you and your dog, it doesn't have to be hours and hours each day just may be 5 minutes or so. Don't forget to reward your dog and yourself for all the "hard" work though!

Does your dog want dog walking as a business a good seeing to? Does he act inappropriately? Those are just a couple of questions many of us are answering in canine training books. Hundred of persons are writing books on dog coaching as it is the sort of massive market.
